About Me: I am a native of the Blue Ridge Mountians of North Carolina. Educated at Appalachian State University, Boone North Carolina. After receiving my BA in Art, I continue to paint full time, working in a variety of diverse style, and mediums. Artist's Statement: What has always inspired me are the physical properties of paint. It is fluid, plastic and has a diminisionality when placed upon a surface. Remains flat or casts a shadow. Can be rendered in all levels of opacity, value and tone. The properties of the medium are infinite in their application and ability to create illusion, mood, response and context. I feel I have only begun to see a few of these properties realised, and hope to continually explore them throughout my career.
